Now Hiring: Carpenter

Salisbury Construction Co. is looking for a top flight carpenter to be a part of its highly successful design/build team. This position is suited for an expertly skilled and independent individual who loves residential and commercial construction. Candidates must have solid organizational abilities, management skills, first-rate trade skills, a professional work ethic and the ability to take direction and offer leadership to others. We are looking for an individual who wants to join our professional team and who has interest in learning, growing and advancing.

Skills Required

-Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills-ability to read and write English.
-Must have through working knowledge of and experience with residential and commercial remodeling and construction.
-Foundation- Layout and form for raised footing or slab on grade. Install and tie steel and make proper connections to existing construction.
-Plan reading- be able to read, interpret and build from blueprints.
-Rough carpentry- Foundation form layout, wall framing, roof framing, plumb and align, window and exterior door installation, deck construction and stair building
-Finish Carpentry –Interior door installation, baseboard, window trim, crown molding, cabinet setting, baluster and hand rail installation, appliance installation and bath accessory installation.
-Minimum of 7 years experience as a carpenter.
-Leadership skills and experience
-An applicant that holds a MA 2A-1C hoisting license and knows their way around site work is certainty a plus

Transportation:

  • Must have reliable transportation – truck or van.
  • A valid Massachusetts Drivers License.
  • A clean DMV record
  • Vehicle insurance

Tools:

All standard rough and finish carpentry tools – tape, screw drivers, flat bar, nail puller, tin snips, chalk line, framing and finish hammers, nail set, utility knife, spped square, framing square, pouches, knee pads, string line, cordless driver/drill and other cordless tools, Circular saw etc.

Salisbury Construction Co. Provides and maintains all specialty power tools and equipment.

Compensation:

Full time year round employmentExcellent industry leading wages (pay based on experience)

Schedule:

8 hour shifts M-F Saturdays are available if desired

Education:

High school or equivalent required
